ANSIDIR

Function:

Generates a directory listing on the standard output of an ANSI labeled tape. A short (the default), medium, or long listing may produced. The short listing displays the only the names of the files on the tape. The medium listing displays the following information:

ansidir will prompt the user for the volume identifier and tape drive name if not specified. ansidir also prompts for the volume ID and drive name for continuation volumes.

Syntax:

ansidir -[Tvilms] [drive] [volid] 

options:
    T       Tape drive name, specified by drive.
    v       Volume identifier, specified by volid.
    i       Flag to ignore a missing volume id - do a directory of any tape
	    on the specified drive.
    l       Do a long listing.
    m       Do a medium listing.
    s       Do a directory of a single tape only
	    (don't reelswitch, even if the tape contains multiple volumes).
   
arguments:
    drive   The name of the tape drive being used.

    volid   The volume identifier of the tape.

Examples:

  1. ansidir -Tvl msa0: hh0694

    A long directory listing will be produced of tape hh0694, which is mounted on tape drive msa0:.
