Transfer multiple scenes from archive tape to the Unitree Central File Manager (UCFM) or disk.
Read an orbital stitch list and transfer multiple scenes from tape to the Unitree Central File Manager (UCFM) or disk.
- PROCOPT
- Processing option that determines the destination of AVHRR scenes read from archive tape(s).
= SILO: Copy scenes to UCFM. If a scene already exists on disk or the UCFM according to INFILE, it will not be copied. = DISK: Copy scenes to the ADAPSORB/lndetect directory. If a scene already exists on disk according to INFILE, it will not be copied.
- INFILE
- Input file. The file containing the orbital stitch information. The status flags within this file will be updated by ORBLOAD. See User Notes 1 and 2 for the format and description of this file.
- NTAPES(1)
- Number of tapes. The number of tapes loaded onto the stacker for processing.
- DRIVE(--)
- Tape drive. The tape drive to be used. If a drive is specified, the operator will not be prompted to mount a tape. It is assumed that the specified drive has NTAPES tapes mounted and ready for reading. If unspecified, the operator will be prompted to mount NTAPES tapes.
- STRSCENE(--)
- Starting scene ID. The scene ID within INFILE at which processing will begin. If STRSCENE is not found within the input file, no scenes will be processed. By default, processing will begin with the first scene ID in INFILE.
- ENDSCENE(--)
- Ending scene ID. The scene ID within INFILE with which processing will end. If defaulted, or ENDSCENE is not found within INFILE, processing will continue to the end of INFILE.
- LOGFILE(--)
- Log file. Name of the log file that the processing messages will be appended to. The default is orbload;log in ADAPSLOG.
There are 5 tapes loaded in the stacker on tape drive "0" to be processed. Each tape is mounted and the tape ID is determined. Having determined the tape ID, SCENES;DAT is read and all of the scenes within the file between AL11063092130017 and AH11072292141517 are evaluated. If the scene does not exist on disk or the UCFM according to the status flags within SCENES;DAT, but according to SCENES;DAT does exist on the currently loaded tape, the scene is read from tape. The log messages will be written to "mylog;log" in the current working directory.
There is only 1 tape (default) to be processed. Since there is only one tape, a stacker is not required; a standard tape drive may be used. Since a tape drive was not specified, a request will be issued to mount the appropriate tape. The entire SCENES;DAT file is searched to locate scenes that reside on the archive tape but are not already on disk. Scenes that meet this criteria are copied from archive tape into the ADAPSORB/lndetect directory. The log messages will be written to "orbload;log" in the ADAPSLOG directory.
NTAPES tapes on the stacker are loaded and processed. If DRIVE is not specified, a request will be issued to mount the stacker onto a tape drive. Otherwise, the stacker is assumed to be mounted on the tape drive specified by DRIVE. For each tape, the tape ID is determined by reading the tape. INFILE is then read to determine if any of the scenes on the loaded tape are to be transferred from tape to the UCFM or disk. The GET_SEEN program is used to make this determination. All of the scenes within the input list that lie between STRSCENE and ENDSCENE are considered. For PROCOPT equal to SILO, if the location flag within the orbital stitch list is " " (location undefined), the scene is transferred from tape to the UCFM. For PROCOPT equal to DISK, if the location flag within the orbital stitch list is not "D" (not already on disk), the scene is transferred from tape to the ADAPSORB/lndetect directory. The orbital stitch list is updated to reflect the new location of the scenes (disk or UCFM). The log message is written to orbload;log in the ADAPSLOG directory unless the user specifies otherwise.
No scenes were identified to be read from the tape currently loaded in the tape drive. No action is required by the user. Processing will continue with the next tape in the stacker.
A fatal error was encountered. The message displayed preceding this message is the error that was encountered. Processing terminates.
An error occurred while updating the orbital stitch file. Verify that the file exists with the proper permissions.
An error occurred while mounting the tape drive. Verify that the device is operational.
An error occurred while determining which scenes to read from the tape that is loaded on the drive. Refer to the error message preceding this one.
An error occurred while attempting to release the tape drive. Verify that the tape drive is operational.
An error occurred while attempting to determine the directory on disk to write to. Verify that the environment variable ADAPSORB has been initialized.
An error occurred while trying to determine if a stop file exists in the ADAPSTABLES directory. Verify that the environment variable ADAPSTABLES has been defined.
An error occurred while trying to determine the amount of available disk space. Verify that the disk pack is operational.
There is not enough disk space available in the ADAPSORB/lndetect directory to copy any more scenes. Once more space has freed up, data transferring will continue.
An error occurred getting the id of the tape in the tape drive. Verify that the tape has been mounted.
The "beginning of tape" status was not found. If the error persists, contact the system administrator.
