MGR2TAB

Reads an IBIS graphics file and writes the data to a polygon labeled table file.

Function:

Reads an image based information system (IBIS) graphics file and writes the data to a polygon labeled table (LT) file.

Parameters:

INFILE
Input file. The input file is an IBIS graphics file.

OUTLT
Output labeled table. The output file will be a polygon labeled table file.

The LT will consist of two files. The first record of the master LT file contains the name of subfile that are associated with it. The subfile name is generated by appending an ascending numeric value to the master LT file name.

Example:

  1. LAS> mgr2tab infile=in.dat outlt=out.dat

The polygon vertices of IN.DAT are read and written to OUT.DAT in a polygon labeled table format.

Description/Algorithm:

After reading the input parameters, INFILE is opened and the polygon vertices are read. These vertices are then written to the file specified in OUTFILE in a labeled table polygon format. After all the polygon vertices are written, all the files are closed and the completion message is displayed.

Nonfatal Error Message:

  1. [mgr2tab-warn] Nonfatal error encountered

A nonfatal error was encountered during processing. The output file is still valid, and processing will continue. The message that is displayed immediately preceding this message is the specific error that was encountered.

Fatal Error Messages:

  1. [mgr2tab-alloc] Error allocating dynamic memory

An error was encountered allocating dynamic memory. Contact the System Manager.

  2. [mgr2tab-fatal] Fatal error encountered

A fatal error was encountered during processing. The output file may or may not be deleted, and processing is terminated. The message that is displayed immediately preceding this message is the specific error that was encountered.

  3. [mgr2tab-open] Error opening <XXXXXX> file

The <XXXXXX> file could not be opened and processing is terminated. Verify that the <XXXXXX> file exists.

  4. [mgr2tab-read] Error reading <XXXXXX> file

The <XXXXXX> file could not be read; and therefore, an output file cannot be created. Verify that the format of the file is correct.
