UMNTCD

Unmount a CDROM on a unix file server

Function:

Unmount a CDROM on a unix file server. If the drive name is not specified, the program will look at TAE global variable $TAPEDRV for the drive name (MNTCD saves the CD drive name into this variable).

Note that this program can be invoked from the UNIX/VMS command line. Refer to the User Notes for the syntax.

Parameters:

LDEV(--)
Logical device name of the CD drive. This name is returned by the mntcd program.

Examples:

  1. TAE> umntcd ldev=cd1 this example unmounts the cd on local drive cd1.

  2. TAE> umntcd ldev=sg2@cd1 this example unmounts the cd on host sg2 at drive cd1.

  3. TAE> umntcd this example unmounts the cd on a drive assigned to tae global variable $tapedrv.

Description/Algorithm:

    User Notes:
  1. A CDROM can be unmounted from the UNIX/VMS command line. The syntax for the command line is: umntcd <ldev>

    ldev -- Logical device name (returned by mntcd).
