Harmonized Landsat and Sentinel-2 (HLS) data are here! The LP DAAC and the HLS Science Team are pleased to announce the release of Harmonized Landsat and Sentinel-2 (HLS) version 2.0 surface reflectance products. HLS data are composed of observations from Landsat 8 and Sentinel-2 and provide a set of seamless data products that can be utilized as if all observations were obtained from a single sensor, providing a global observation of the land every 2-3 days at 30-meter spatial resolution. This is beneficial for observing natural disasters like wildfires. This video shows the spread of the Magnum wildfire in Arizona from Jun 1 to Jul 1, 2020 using HLS data. Data are now available for this past month with historical and forward processing on-going. Once the historical processing has been completed the L30 data will be available from May 2013 to present and the S30 data will be available from December 2015 to present. It is located at the USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The LP DAAC ingests, archives, processes, and distributes NASA Earth science land processes data and information. Have questions about HLS data?
