Harmonized Landsat and Sentinel-2 (HLS) data are here! The LP DAAC and the HLS Science Team are pleased to announce the release of Harmonized Landsat and Sentinel-2 (HLS) version 2.0 surface reflectance products. HLS data are composed of observations from Landsat 8 and Sentinel-2 and provide a set of seamless data products that can be utilized as if all observations were obtained from a single sensor, providing a global observation of the land every 2-3 days at 30-meter spatial resolution. This is beneficial for observing changes on the Earth’s surface over a short period of time. This video highlights the benefits of using HLS data including increased temporal frequency, common gridding, unified atmospheric correction, illumination and view angle normalization, and spectral bandpass adjustment, To learn more about HLS data please visit the LP DAAC website: https://lpdaac.usgs.gov/data/get-started-data/collection-overview/#HLS_anchor For more information on the data used to make this video please visit the LP DAAC website: HLS Sentinel-2 Multi-Spectral Instrument Surface Reflectance Daily Global 30 m: https://doi.org/10.5067/HLS/HLSS30.002 HLS Landsat Multi-Spectral Instrument Surface Reflectance Daily Global 30 m: https://doi.org/10.5067/HLS/HLSL30.002 The LP DAAC is one of the NASA Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) DAACs and operates as a partnership with the United States Geological Survey (USGS). It is located at the USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The LP DAAC ingests, archives, processes and distributes NASA Earth science land processes data and information. Want data updates from the LP DAAC?
